Soapstone is by nature stain, acid and heat resistant. This natural surface is a good choice for kitchens. Soapstone is softer than granite or quartz, and can more easily be scratched. However, any scratches can be buffed out with special tools or professional assistance. Once initial mineral oil treatments are completed, no maintenance of this stone is required.
